Tesla intends to lay off 693 employees at its facilities located in Sparks, Nevada, as indicated by a government notice.
The notice was formally submitted to the Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation earlier this week.
Compliance with Labor Law:
Under U.S. labor regulations, companies with 100 or more employees are obligated to provide authorities with a 60-day advance notice of planned closings or significant layoffs.
Earlier this month, Tesla announced its decision to lay off 6,020 employees across its operations in Texas and California as part of a broader initiative to reduce its global workforce by more than 10%.
Tesla Previous Workforce Size:
According to filings with U.S. regulators, Tesla’s global headcount exceeded 140,000 employees as of late 2023, underscoring the significant scale of the company’s previous workforce.
