At only 18 years old, Sheyda co-founded JM Learning Prep with her then-partner, transforming an idea born from a love of teaching into a movement built on purpose. Those early years were marked by passion and long nights, as Sheyda learned every aspect of the business while shaping her own philosophy of teaching.
Unlike traditional educators who focused on memorization, Sheyda sought something deeper — connection. She saw each student as a whole person, not a test score. Her method integrated psychology, mindset, and strategy, helping students overcome anxiety, self-doubt, and personal obstacles.
Her classrooms became sanctuaries for those others had given up on — children from rehabs, foster care, and underserved communities. Under her mentorship, they not only learned but thrived, earning admissions to Ivy League universities and rewriting their life stories.
Under Sheyda’s leadership, JM Learning Prep became a Brooklyn institution, earning Best of Brooklyn honors for fourteen consecutive years. What began as a tutoring center evolved into a one-stop destination for academics, admissions, and mentorship. Many of her students went on to attend top universities, medical schools, and law programs, still reaching out to her years later — a testament to her lasting influence.
But Sheyda’s impact wasn’t confined to her students. As a leader, she cultivated loyalty and purpose in her staff, empowering them to grow with her. For Sheyda, leadership was never about authority — it was about responsibility, empathy, and unwavering belief in people.
By late 2019, JM Learning Prep had outgrown its space. Enrollment was soaring, and Sheyda envisioned scaling the business into a global brand. Her partner, however, preferred a smaller operation, prompting Sheyda to take the bold step of expanding independently.
Just weeks after moving into a new flagship facility, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Overnight, the world stopped — but Sheyda didn’t. While her former partner transitioned online, Sheyda stayed behind, driving through silent Brooklyn streets each night to keep the business alive.
Under the harsh glare of fluorescent lights, she sat alone, planning and rebuilding. Even in the midst of personal heartbreak, divorce, and financial uncertainty, she refused to quit. She protected her staff, mentored them through fear, and ensured every paycheck went out on time. Her resilience became the heartbeat of her company — and of her own rebirth.
By 2023, Sheyda felt a new chapter calling. After more than a decade of educational success, she transitioned JM Learning Prep into a hybrid model and launched UNSTUCK by Shey Coaching — a mindset and performance brand that helps students, entrepreneurs, artists, and professionals worldwide discover clarity, balance, and purpose.
Her evolution from academic mentor to transformational coach represents the culmination of everything she’s learned — that success begins in the mind, and freedom follows those who dare to grow.
From teaching eight-hour SAT crash courses while nine months pregnant to steering her business through a global crisis, Sheyda Milman’s journey proves that true leadership is measured not by what you build, but by who you become along the way.
