“There’s a promise in the title of Succession,” he stated, hinting at the show’s inevitable culmination. Armstrong revealed that the end had always been looming on his creative horizon. He added, “The end has always been kind of present in my mind.”

Despite the show’s popularity and the possibility of further seasons, Armstrong believes in a stronger, more decisive conclusion. “I think this maybe should be it,” he shared with his fellow writers before starting the writing of season four.

He hinted at the possibility of exploring allied characters or parts of this universe, expressing, “Maybe there’s another part of this world we could come back to, if there’s an appetite?”
